Template:Princess Princess Maria is the eldest princess of the Pastel Kingdom. She is currently engaged to Prince Blaine.

Her hobbies include singing along to Bozart and fangirling over Prince Blaine of the Plaid Kingdom.

Appearance

Maria and Lorena are modeled on the 'stereotypical 90s shoujo anime girls', as said by Lambcat in an interview. The eldest sister, Maria, is eighteen and supposedly so beautiful that woodland animals help her everyday to get ready. This is a not so-subtle reference to Cinderella, who is also helped by animals as such.

In ep 46 ('here comes the pastel princesses'), one of the visitors at Lance's birthday party say that having birds and adorable animals appear by your side is a sign of extreme beauty.

Maria has aquamarine eyes and long blond hair, a small part of which is made into two small buns tied by blue ribbons. Her day look, which is for 'errands such as feeding birds and sing ballads from the balcony', consists of a white top with a bow and a blue skirt with a golden waistline. Her evening gown is pastel blue with small ruffles along the neckline.

During Lance's birthday party, she is dressed up by the maids in a blue plaid gown. Her entrance to the party is marked by birds and glowing feather floating down the hall, stunning the viewers and petrifying prince Blaine's fangirls. She later exchanges her gown for Prince Blaine fan merchandise when she is drenched in punch by some of Blaine's fangirls.

Maria takes good care of her appearance and considers herself the most 'fashion forward' sister.

Personality

Maria is basically the perfect princess. She considers herself to be "fashion forward", and has animals appear by her side, a sign of "extreme" beauty. Maria loves to sing, especially songs from Bozart (a parody of Mozart). She is called the "graceful" one by Lorena.

When she gets hit by fruit punch from the Blaine fangirls, Maria calls herself truly "a fangirl who has a habit of getting herself in disgusting messes".

She is a very loving older sister to Gwen.

History

Maria lost her mother when she was young. She and her sisters were doted by their overprotective father, King Jack, who forbade even the male guards from making eye-contact with the princesses. She, along with her sisters, were hidden from the public eye where she could foster her talent of singing to perfection.

So, when the king announces their engagement to the plaid princes, she is overjoyed and falls for the Prince when they meet for the first time. She says that she is ready to get married as soon as possible.

She also mentions '14 years of charmschool' when she messes up her words at meeting Prince Blaine for the first time.

Relationships

Maria is engaged to Prince Blaine. She is in love with him, wanting to marry him as soon as possible, and even tries to sip from Blaine’s glass to make her “first kiss,” but fails to do so as her sisters take it away from her, knowing there is alcohol in it.
