Prince Saffron of the Foliage Kingdom is a member of the Cursed Princess Club.
Appearance[]
Saffron is tall with a muscular figure. He has light skin, and long, messy crocodile-green hair tied into a high ponytail with bangs framing the sides of his face. He has a beige leafy headband wrapped around his forehead, as well as green eyes and light stubble on his chin. He wears a vermilion vest with leaf patterns and beige trim. The vest is open around the collar and down his chest. On the vest's upper left side, there is a beige branch insignia. Around his waist is a bright yellow sash. His pants are dark green, and like the other princes in the series, he has thigh-high brown boots. His left hand is cursed; it is dark green with a light green glow, and the fingers are clawed. He usually wears a long brown glove over it.
Personality[]
As used to be the only male members of the club, Saffron is quite vocal on his complaints of the club's name. He outright saying that he's quite salty of many things, but he isn't got any evil inside of him. He's often on the receiving end of the club's hijinks, from having to fetch a ping-pong ball from Jolie's eye socket to accidentally volunteering to dance with Thermidora. Saffron often challenges Prez's authority as well, talking about how great he'd be at leading the club. At the end of the day, he is friends with everyone, and is always willing to help out: his rejection of the Princels showing he would much rather be with the Club, He's supporting both Whitney and Frederick when other CPC members puts them on hard spot. He despises not having a beard, which is a source of frustration for him, and didn't care about his cursed hand. He is so passionate about plants and gardening.
History[]
A few years prior to the story, Prince Saffron was walking outside with his father. Unbeknownst to the two of them, a goblin had sneaked past security. The goblin tried to curse Saffron by burning a fragment of his soul into Saffron's flesh, aiming to control his body and destroy the kingdom using the evil inside him as a conduit. However, Saffron didn't have much evil in him, so the curse only spread to his left hand and stopped there.
A few years later, Prez asked Saffron to be the first male member of the Cursed Princess Club. He agreed, but only if she changed the name to be more inclusive. (She never will, since she'd already ordered non-refundable T-shirts with that name on it before he joined).
Relationships[]
Syrah[]
Saffron and Syrah are two of Prez's biggest supporters, and both often bicker among themselves. They're naturally very competitive and silly around each other, but do care about each other all in all. Saffron's often willing to jump in to protect Syrah, her being one of the reasons (aside from the Princels generally being jerks) for his outburst at the Princels. He reached out to her when a hostile stranger was about to punch Syrah in the Pastel Plaza, too, but Prez saved her just in time.
In Episode 148, it's revealed that Syrah was extremely attracted to Saffron when he joined the club. However, Prez threatened to remove her from the club if she hit on him like she did with Curtis; so, she told herself to not do it if she wanted to stay. When Saffron greeted her, she immediately yelled "I'VE SEEN NICER MEAT!!", and as Jolie notes, she's kept her word to Prez to this day.
Jolie[]
Saffron harbors a minor fear of Jolie, her curse adding to her creepiness factor. Jolie often uses this fear to tease Saffron, like making him fish a ping pong ball out of her eye socket, or acting mysteriously when he asks about how she got her curse. Saffron wonders how Jolie can see through her "holes". Even after hearing her story, he still wonders, as does Jolie herself.
Whitney[]
Saffron had been wanting the CPC to get another male member for a while. While attempting to goad him to see if he had changed or not, he found out Whitney was also unable to grow a beard, and welcomed him to the club with open arms. Saffron called Whitney his club buddy in Episode 111. When the CPC were trying to convince Whitney to stay, Saffron told him that with a second male member, he could potentially take over the club and change the name.
Prez[]
Prez and Saffron may be competitive towards each other when it comes to ping-pong, or argue over the name of the Cursed Princess Club remaining so when there are non-princess members, but they work together well when in times of need. Saffron often hints wanting to become Club President himself. As shown by his second encounter with the Princels, for all his talk about overthrowing Prez, he really does respect her as a leader.

- Saffron doesn't really care about his cursed hand.
- He considers his inability to grow a beard the real curse, even written that up in his application instead his hand.
- Saffron has a strong disdain towards girl talk, and ends up being clueless to the history of the other members of the club; such as Prez and Jolie.
- Saffron is a middle child, and is said to look like the exact middle point between his parents.
- He got his father's complexion and nose, while his mother's eyes and facial hair.
- Saffron won a few awards for his decorative pruning talents, as said in Episode 40.
- Saffron's name comes from a flower that is also used as spice and food dye. Some of the more common "Saffron" associations are feelings of happiness and joy, with a gift of saffron being a way to send positive vibes and energy to another. It is thought to relate to the emotions of youth as well, and childlike wonder. The name Crocus sativus is thought to originate from the Greek god Krokus, who upon his death became the flower, as well as the Arabic word "zafaran", which means yellow.
- He's terrified of spiders (arachnophobia).
- LambCat confirming in the Patreon that Saffron's sexuality is a straight.
- Saffron doesn't have good handwriting. When Gwendolyn sees the way he wrote "Puppet Show", she thinks it was written with his cursed hand, but Saffron tells her that's not his writing hand.[1] Although, when he's not writing too big, he seems to be able to write normally.
- Saffron's cursed hand is his left hand. His other, uncursed hand is his right hand, so it must be his dominant hand.
